Start slow to go fast

So here's something you might notice in the first few weeks — our days are going to look really simple. We're talking colors, practicing lines (straight up-and-down, side-to-side, diagonal — the building blocks for writing letters later), counting up and down from 10, and singing nursery rhymes. And I mean it, that's basically it for a while!

I promise this isn't me taking it easy. 😊 Those first weeks are all about helping your kiddo feel at home in our classroom. We're working on routines — how we line up, how we ask for help, how we share, how we solve problems with others — and just getting comfortable with each other as a group. Kids learn so much better once they feel safe and know what to expect, so that's what we're building first. Even more, using familiar content and learning makes students feel SO confident in themselves- they're rocking it at this kindergarten thing!

So if it looks like "easy street" at drop-off, hang tight! Once we've got our classroom groove down, we pick up the pace fast and dig into some really great, challenging learning. The slow start is actually what sets us up to work hard later.
